Good American - The Good Squad

A campaign I’ll never forget - full of so many firsts. My first major campaign, my first time traveling with a brand & to LA, my first time on a Billboard, my first time in Times Square.

The casting process of the Good Squad is so unique. I applied through Instagram and ended up being selected for an in person call back in New York. They had two days of castings in four cities. The day I went for my callback I had no idea what to expect, but I definitely wanted to stand out. Since it’s Good American, I figured everyone would be wearing denim, so I wore a dark gray Jaded London set with silver boots my roommate let me borrow. At the casting they called us back in groups where we did an interview and took a photo.

I didn’t hear anything for months; so many months that I thought they had already chosen the Good Squad & thought it was a scam email when I received the callback. The email was letting me know I had been chosen for a callback that would take place in LA. I couldn’t believe they were flying me out for a follow up casting. It seemed too good to be true. I was freaking out and was immediately asking my roommates if they thought it was real, they had me convinced I had already booked the Good Squad - why else would they be doing so much?

Fast forward, I’m in LA. When I showed up to the hotel they had Good American clothes waiting for me & all kinds of treats in my room. I felt so spoiled. The following morning they had us meet in the lobby where myself & 5 other girls met as well as one of the producers from Good American. They took us in two separate vans to Milk Studios, we were all so excited & had no idea what to expect. At Milk Studios they had us come out of the van one at a time to get mic’d up and escorted into the studio. I was the last one to go in, my heart was racing. When I finally walked in there was an entire production team & so many cameras pointed at me. When I turned the corner, I was on set with Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede. I was on the Good Squad!!

Turned out I was at a fitting for our photoshoot. All the girls were calling home to tell our families we made it! The photoshoot itself had even more surprises - we were all being signed to Natural Models LA. My now agent, Sara Davenport was there to announce the news.

The entire day was so fun. I’m so thankful to have experienced it. It brought me close to some amazing women that I’m so lucky to call my friends now. All of the girls on the Good Squad were so uplifting and positive to be around.

When the campaign launched, we got even more exciting news. They would be showing the campaign in Times Square!!! Could this get any better? Ayanna, Ketara, & I went to Times Square together to see the ad in person - this was such an insane feeling, I’m so happy to have shared with them.

I would say my first campaign was a success. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience & looking forward to many more.
